The Berlin police have the same problem as other authorities or employers in the private sector: there is a growing lack of suitable young people.
Enough young people can still be hired, but more applicants fail the tests than five years ago. The trend will not be easy to stop.
It would now be easy to say: The youth of today are no longer like those of the past. Now even a “living mom” has to take care of cheap four walls for the candidates in the police force. As far as I’m concerned, personal trainers could also take care of the fitness of the applicants free of charge in the future…
With all due care: the requirements for starting training with the capital city police – both athletically and intellectually – must not be scaled down (further). Berlin needs capable police officers.
