The capital can’t get enough of him – and he can’t get enough of the capital: Grönemeyer, the second! 22,000 were in the sold-out Waldbühne.
After the concert on May 21 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena, the German superstar is now upping the ante. Monday evening the first of two sold out concerts at the Waldbühne. Get out of the largest halls in the country and into the fresh Berlin summer air!
Annoying topic, as always with free choice of seats in the forest stage: not everyone got a seat. Discussions with the folders, lack of understanding. Blessed are those who finished work on time and made it to the Westend in time.
The 67-year-old Grönemeyer moves the masses as ever. “Good evening at home!” he called after his second song Das ist los. Grönemeyer himself owns a house in the capital.
The setlist: Pretty much identical to the last concert. Songs from the new album (Tau, Eine Tonne Blei) mix with Grönemeyer classics (Bochum, alcohol, human). A solid German rock show as usual.
And yet Waldbühne concerts are always something special: the sun is slowly setting and 22,000 Berliners are singing “What’s that supposed to mean?”. Guitarist Jakob Hansonis (64) on the Western and later on the E-guitar. The Waldbühne sound: good as usual. Grönemeyer’s voice: unusually rough at times.
It’s the 15th of 17 concerts on the current Das-ist-los tour. Grönemeyer rocks the Waldbühne again on Tuesday evening, tickets are no longer available. On Friday the big tour finale will take place in the Schalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen.
