Berlin housing companies turn on the heating – but how warm is it getting?

You can save a lot when it comes to heating

The first housing associations are already turning on the heating

Temperatures are falling, costs are rising and many tenants are asking themselves two questions: When will my heating come on and how warm will it be?

The municipal housing association Gesobau has turned on the radiators since Monday, twelve days before the start of the heating period on October 1st. Because: If the outside temperature is below twelve degrees on three consecutive nights, Gesobau apartments are heated. There is no precise legal regulation.

Gewobag also confirms: The radiators are running. At least the ones with the appropriate temperature sensors. “We are currently working at full speed to put all heating systems into operation by October 1st,” said a company spokeswoman for the BZ

But how warm will it be in the apartments this winter?

The company Stadt und Land has already lowered the flow temperatures of the systems. After all: during the day it should not fall below 20 degrees, at night 18 degrees. Gewobag promises the same.

Gesobau is currently still looking for potential savings. “This also includes a possible reduction in room temperature,” says BZ. But: The concerns of the tenants would be taken into account!

By the way: in town and country, one third of the supply is currently provided by gas and two thirds by district heating.
