During the Berlin Fashion Week, the fashion label Bondy gave a glimpse into its world, where couture and childlike wonder are mixed.
In an installation in the Platte.Berlin store on Thursday evening, a colorful fantasy space between analogue and digital opened up. Models strolled around a small stage with fantastic bouquets of flowers in delicate tulle dresses made of deadstock fabrics.
The colors of the ruffles and satin trousers with tactile and playful details such as rhinestones, PVC and metal chains evoked the designer’s childhood around the turn of the last millennium. But the near-neon tulle and digital design in collaboration with 3D artists Tabitha Swanson and Jonas Wolff also pave a path into a digital fantasy world.
“This collection is inspired by my childhood experiences as the world went from analog to digital,” said designer Judith Bondy in a statement on Friday. As a lover of tactile materials and fantasy scenarios, she never understood how the computer could captivate all her classmates so much. She even made her best friend promise not to use a computer for the rest of her life.
