Three weeks of radio silence? You don’t know Matthias Höhn (27) like that. Now the former “Berlin – Day and Night” actor gives an update on what was going on with him.
“In the last three weeks I’ve really taken all the feelings with me that were somehow possible. I felt very bad at times. I was sometimes very well,” the TV star begins his latest video on social media.
Then the shocking news: he had alcohol poisoning and was suffering from panic attacks.
He took things that his body could no longer break down. “I’ve been really, really sick for a week and a half now,” reports Matthias.
He talks about panic attacks that he could no longer assess, shows videos of himself in which he is visibly upset and at the end. He leaves unanswered why Matthias experienced this emotional ups and downs and apparently drowned his sorrows in alcohol.
Most recently, he had taken part in “Prominent Separated” with the mother of his child and former “Berlin Day and Night” actress Jenefer Riili (32). During the broadcast in March, he suddenly broke up with his girlfriend Michelle Simöl.
Has the relationship made him so tired?
His ex Jenefer stood by him during this difficult time, chatted with him on WhatsApp and even let him sleep over for a few nights so he wasn’t alone.
In the meantime, the “Prominent Separated” participant has survived his alcohol poisoning. The TV star also seems to be doing better mentally.
“I’m fine again, folks. I’m looking forward to everything that’s to come,” he ends his Instagram video.
What helps against panic attacks?
If you are suffering from an acute panic attack, you can try to extricate yourself from the situation. Some immediate measures can have a positive effect, because the physical symptoms are nothing more than an excessive stress reaction, according to Dr. Hagemann, medical director of the private clinic Merbeck, which specializes in anxiety disorders.
5 immediate tips for an emerging panic attack:
▶︎ Classify the feelings and realize that nothing bad will happen to you.
▶︎ Draw attention away from the panic to something positive.
▶︎ Breathe deeply into your stomach and let the air slowly escape through your pursed lips.
▶︎ Move and break free from rigidity, e.g. climb stairs or do squats.
▶︎ Actively relax with the help of autogenic training or meditation exercises.
