After the start of the coalition negotiations, the SPD left will find it (even) more difficult to vilify Kai Wegner as a conservative hardliner. The CDU election winner is extremely forgiving and is very accommodating to the Social Democrats.

The joint Black-Red exploratory paper reads largely as if it had been written solely by the SPD headquarters in Berlin.

Adhering to the anti-discrimination law, continuing the 29-euro ticket for everyone, even a possible lowering of the voting age to 16 – all of this can suddenly be done with the Union.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether this will also happen. But the paper contains many sensible points. Fortunately, there are no ideologically vague formulations from similar agreements with the Greens and the Left.
