Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim has signed two-time German international Mergim Berisha from league rivals FC Augsburg.
As announced by TSG on Wednesday, the 25-year-old striker signed a contract until 2027. According to media reports, Berisha had also been a candidate for a commitment at Borussia Dortmund in the past few days.
“Mergim not only proved during his time at FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga that he is always able to pose an enormous goal threat against any opponent,” said TSG Managing Director Alexander Rosen about the new attacker, who played in March 2023 against Peru was used for the first time in the German national team. With the German U21 national team, he became European champion in 2021.
After moving from Fenerbahce Istanbul to Swabia in August 2022, Berisha played a total of 26 Bundesliga games for FC Augsburg, in which he scored ten goals and four assists. Most recently, Borussia Dortmund was also mentioned as interested in signing Mergim Berisha.
