Steven Berghuis has already retired before the break in the match between the Dutch national team and Belgium in the Nations League. The midfielder suffered too much from his back. Cody Gakpo took his place.
Berghuis also had back problems in the second half in the won game against Poland (0-2) on Thursday. The match against Belgium seemed to come too early for the Ajax player, but the medical staff declared him fit.
Berghuis is the fourth player of the Orange squad who sustained an injury during this international match. Teun Koopmeiners (head), Frenkie de Jong (thigh) and Memphis Depay (hamstring) preceded him. The trio left the training camp of the Dutch national team on Friday.
