Glennis Grace’s horrific tokkie behavior causes an incredible amount of grief for Berget Lewis, Candy Dulfer and Edsilia Rombley. They were forced to cancel the Ladies of Soul concerts in September due to the ongoing controversy surrounding their controversial group member Glennis. This has financial consequences for many people.
Berget in depression
Berget is really going through it, she confesses in front of the cameras of both RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws. “It is terrible for me and not just for me, but for everyone involved with this fantastic concert, this fantastic show. Yes, I will be very honest with you: I was really off it for a while,” she says at RTL.
The singer has been sitting at home half depressed. “Yes, of course we did everything we could and tried. We have now made this choice and it has not been an easy choice. It really hurts our hearts, almost literally, but next year better than ever†
Little contact
It is really horrific, continues Berget at SBS. “The mood at home is low, of course. It hurts my heart so much. I’m just… I’m so sorry.”
Is she still in contact with Glennis at all? Then tellingly, “Little.”
Berget hopes that she and her colleagues will not be looked at too much for their colleague’s behaviour. “I hope people just want to see our side of the story and that it hasn’t been easy for us either.”
Good on the Ladies?
RTL Boulevard host Frank Dane is shocked. “Berget looks emotional. What was it like when the cameras were gone?” he asks.
Reporter Aran Bade said: “She reacted very stunned and emotional. I especially noticed that I think it was a surprise for her that those concerts were cancelled.”
Luuk Ikink wonders if there is a fight. “I can also imagine that she is a bit emotional, because of course the whole house of cards is collapsing. That is very annoying for them. Why do you think she has so little contact with Glennis now?”
Friendship cooled
Aran doesn’t think there is a fight, but that the friendship has just cooled. “There are a lot of rumors that there would be a fight between the ladies. I also asked Edsilia last week and he says: ‘No, that’s not true’, but I do think there is a lot of frustration.”
“Frustration in particular because something so serious has actually happened that those entire concerts cannot go on and that Glennis is really to blame and that they think it is very bad. I think that really damaged that friendship.”
