The German national soccer player Ann-Katrin Berger missed the title as the best goalkeeper of the year 2022.
The 32-year-old from Chelsea was beaten by England goalkeeper Mary Earps at the FIFA Gala in Paris.
Berger, who had publicized another cancer illness last year, was a substitute in the DFB women’s squad, who finished second behind the hosts at the European Championships in England.
Berger was one of three goalkeepers nominated for the final, alongside former Wolfsburg’s Earps and Olympique Lyon’s Chilean goalkeeper Christiane Endler. The Argentinian world champion Emiliano Martinez was named the best goalkeeper of the year 2022.
