The new edition maintains the three galas: two semifinals with eight artists in each one on Sunday, January 31 and Tuesday, February 2, 2023, and with a grand final, on Saturday, February 4.

The singer Monica Naranjo will be the host of Benidorm Fest 2023 in a year in which they will compete to represent Spain in Eurovision two more artists, 16 for the 14 of the last edition.

This has been announced in the presentation of the Benidorm Fest in an event organized on the Paseo de Tamarindos in the tourist capital of Alicante, where the president of RTVE, José Manuel Pérez Tornero; the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, and the mayor, Toni Pérez, have signed the protocol to host this musical event for another year.

One of the main novelties of Benidorm Fest 2023 will be the presence of Mónica Naranjo as presenter in an edition that It maintains the three galas: two semifinals with eight artists in each one on Sunday, January 31 and Tuesday, February 2, 2023, and with a grand final, on Saturday, February 4.

In this great final, the eight artists who have passed the semifinals will compete and from them will come the Spanish representative in Eurovision.

Jury chaired by Nacho Cano

Another announcement has been that the international jury will be more numerous and that it will be chaired by the musician and composer Nacho Cano, who has advanced in Benidorm that he will be “demanding” and who has encouraged artists who wish to appear at the Benidorm Fest to do so “from absolute freedom because it is the good thing about the art”.

On the other hand, the voting system will not change which, like last year, will be 50 percent based on the verdict of a professional jury with professionals from the world of music and composition, both Spanish and foreign, in order to take into account international tastes given that the Eurovision vote comes from third countries.

The other half of the election will continue to come from the public’s televoting (25 percent) and from the opinion of a demographic jury (the other 25).

The capacity of the gala space will be greater, although the amount of public that will be able to follow the live performances has not yet been encrypted, and it has been emphasized that this year there will be tickets on sale at a price of between 20 and 60 euros.
