Benfica plays a draw in the run-up to the away game with Ajax
Benfica has lost points in the run-up to Tuesday’s away match against Ajax in the eighth finals of the Champions League. The record champion of Portugal was stuck in its own stadium against FC Vizela in a draw (1-1).
Benfica played with one man less from the 8th minute, after a red card for Adel Taarabt. Cassiano brought FC Vizela to 0-1 in the 65th minute. Substitute Henrique Araújo equalized ten minutes later for Benfica, which remains the number 3 in the Portuguese league. FC Vizela currently occupies the fourteenth position.
The first match between Benfica and Ajax in Lisbon did not yield a winner (2-2).
