Benedikt Doll is happy about the special support

The German biathletes are looking forward to the last World Cup before the Christmas holidays. In Lenzerheide, DSV ski hunter Benedikt Doll wants to build on his good performances in Hochfilzen.

Benedikt Doll has set himself a clear goal for the World Cup in Switzerland: “My focus is on staying error-free in the individual races, especially in the shooting. I didn’t manage to do that with my pursuers in Östersund and Hochfilzen.”

In Sweden and Austria, the German biathlon star made two mistakes in the final shooting, thus depriving himself of the opportunity for a better placing. In Östersund he came 19th in pursuit and tenth in Hochfilzen.

Energy for the World Cup in Switzerland is “still there”, although the first trimester until Christmas is “quite long” – especially because the World Cup in Östersund lasted two weekends. The station in Lenzerheide was “very demanding with three individual races,” emphasized the 33-year-old.

Biathlete Doll is happy about special support

Good thing for Doll: He can rely on additional support in Switzerland. “Lenzerheide is the closest World Cup location to my home in the Black Forest. It’s still a completely different atmosphere because you’re deep in the Alps. My family is there with me, which of course makes me happy!”

Like in Hochfilzen, Doll should be able to cope well with the altitude – the Roland Arena is 1,400 meters above sea level. “I don’t really have any problems with that.”

The German men’s squad in Switzerland consists of Benedikt Doll, Philipp Horn, Johannes Kühn, Philipp Nawrath, Justus Strelow and David Zobel.

With 152 points, Doll is currently the third best German biathlete in twelfth place in the overall ranking. Justus Strelow (168 points, ninth place) and Philipp Nawrath (203 points, fifth place) are above him. In Lenzerheide there is a sprint (Friday, 2:15 p.m.), the pursuit (Saturday, 2:40 p.m.) and a mass start (Sunday, 2:45 p.m.) on the program.
