The Spanish Paula Badosa said goodbye this Friday to the WTA 500 tournament in Charleston (North Carolina, USA), in which the semifinals will see the Swiss belinda bencic meet the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova and the Tunisian Ons Jabeur face the american Amanda Anisimova.
Badosa, number 3 in the world, was ahead 6-2 and 4-2, but succumbed to a Bencic who added her first victory against the Catalan in four precedents. Triumphed by 2-6, 7-6(2) and 6-3 after a battle of two hours and 50 minutes on the clay of North Carolina. Bencic, a semi-finalist in Miami last week, met Alexandrova (n.54), who rolled 6-0 and 6-2 to the polish magda linettein just 62 minutes of the game.
The other semifinal will be played by Jabeur, number 10 in the world and third favorite, against Anisimova. Jabeur won the Ukrainian with authority Anhelina Kalinina for 6-3 and 6-2 in 63 minutes while Anisimova (n.47) won 6-3 and 6-2 to his compatriot Coco Vandeveghe.
The semifinals will be played this Saturday while the final will be on Sunday.
