Director Ben Timmermans has sold his shares in the engineering company Avitec to five employees. That company from Nieuw-Buinen, with him at the helm, was elected Drenthe Company of the Year in 2019. In addition, he and his company were involved in the construction of the largest solar park in the Netherlands.
Timmermans started at the company in 1988 and has been co-owner of Avitec since 2019. During that period he was also active at the Muur van Emmen, a former rubbish dump that was converted into a cycling track.
Timmermans is not leaving the company completely yet. He will continue to advise the current management as an advisor in the coming period. His resignation will have no consequences for the company’s staff.
