An icon of Italian nature is no more. Amarena, a beloved mama bear, who regularly strolled through villages with her offspring, was shot dead by a 56-year-old man in Abruzzo. He said he felt threatened. There is dismay in Italy at the death of the bear that lived in harmony with humans. Everything is done to track down her two missing cubs.
