Dfter last year’s box office triumph, this evening at 9.20pm on Channel 5 goes on air Hello beautifulpolite comedy with Pio and Amedeo directed by Gennaro Nunziante. The same one that launched Fabio Rovazzi and Checco Zalone to the cinema years ago. A film that abandon politically incorrect tones of the two Apulian comedians in the name of a feel-good comedy. Maybe too much.

Pio and Amedeo are two friends who live in Sant’Agata di Puglia and they’ve been sharing everything since they were kids in elementary school. After graduation, however, something changes: Pio moves to Milan to study economics and business with the dream of break into high finance, while Amedeo remains in the village. Working in a health supply store and being busy as municipal councilor for youth policies.
They meet again by chance after several years, when Pio – in the company of his influencer girlfriend Elettra (Lorena Cacciatore) – is called back to Puglia for financial consultancy. At the start, Amedeo is reluctant to see him againthinks he has become a cynical rich man, he definitely changes his mind when he discovers that he wants to redevelop the area. But at the municipality everything gets bogged down, forcing Pio to returning to Milan disappointed.
To try to save what can be saved, Amedeo’s council colleagues convince him to go to Milan and try to compromise. But what Amedeo discovers in the city changes the cards on the table again: Pio is not as wealthy and successful as he wanted us to believe, and in a short time he loses his home, job and girlfriend.

A halfway successful comedy
Gennaro Nunziante – director of Checco Zalone’s first films – It has a very specific poetics when it comes to bringing TV comedy to the cinema. For him you don’t have to be comedians but comic actors. So it weakens the actors standard bearers of cynical and foul-mouthed comedywithout discounts to anyone, in one variation on the simple and graceful theme of Welcome to the North. In which Pio and Amedeo they abandon improvisation and sketches in favor of well-rounded characters. A result that. half convincing.
If in fact on the one hand it’s good that their incorrect comedy is curbed by a rigid but well thought-out script, on the other that provocative nuance is lost a bit which provoked outbursts of laughter. Hello beautiful so makes you smile more than laugh, and the story is certainly not the most original, given that it seems to follow Checco Zalone in Milan without any points of reference (I fall from the clouds).

Also directed by Gennaro Nunziante, How can a rock it was filmed this summer between Rome, Naples, Puglia and Veneto. The title is taken from I would… I would not… but if you want, song by Lucio Battisti contained in the album My free song (1972).
The plot tells about Pio (Pio D’Antini) who, after the death of his father, inherits the management of several very profitable businesses. With money he moves to Treviso, where he lives in luxury together with his family and at a certain point he ran for office in the municipal elections to become mayor.
In the meantime Amedeo (Amedeo Grieco) arrives in town, ex-convict hired by the parish priest as his personal driver. Despite his differences with Pio, the newcomer helps Amedeo rediscover his true passions and his discover a buried truth about his family. Which will finally make him reconcile with himself.
