“We definitely want lions again, the lion is the mascot of Bellewaerde. For us they are an important part of Bellewaerde,” said Melissa Nollet, veterinarian and animal care manager, after Aru’s death. Those words are now becoming reality with the transfer of lion Nestor to Bellewaerde Park.
Visitors can get a first glimpse of the new star during the park’s reopening on March 30.
