Belle and Sebastian unexpectedly announced their new album “Late Developers” for Friday (January 13th).

The Scottish band around singer Stuart Murdoch was founded in 1996. Since then, eleven studio records have been released, most recently her work “A Bit of Previous” in May 2022.

Belle and Sebastian: Back in Glasgow

Taking to Instagram, the band explains: “We recorded the album in Glasgow during the same sessions as ‘A Bit of Previous’ and are excited to finally release this new collection of songs!” ‘A Bit of Previous’ was originally scheduled to be released in Los Angeles, but due to the pandemic, the group had to fall back on their hometown of Glasgow. After “Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant” (2000), this (and now also the announced “Late Developers”) represented the first work in their band history, which was recorded there again.
