Belgium, together with the Netherlands and Germany, is competing for the construction of a 2 billion euro mega telescope: “We will soon be able to study black holes”

A groundbreaking new super telescope, deep underground in the Meuse-Rhine region. Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany are doing everything they can to secure the construction of this project. This concerns the Einstein telescope with which scientists can detect gravitational waves from space. Dutch scientist and Minister of Education, Culture & Science Robbert Dijkgraaf explains why this project is so important for our countries and science.
