Belgian study shows: certain fatty acid is important factor in breast cancer metastases

A certain fatty acid, more specifically palmitate, plays an important role in whether a breast cancer patient will develop metastases. This is the conclusion of new research by VIB-KU Leuven, which VIB announced on Friday. Palmitate can trigger a series of signals in cancer cells that enable the cells to grow into metastases or metastases. Tomorrow/Saturday is World Cancer Day.
