Belgian parents ‘refuse to buy plane ticket for son’ and then leave baby behind in Israeli airport | Abroad

A video of the harrowing incident is doing the rounds on Facebook. According to the Israeli news channel ‘N12’, the two parents, who both had Belgian passports, arrived quite late. They also caused an argument with the counter staff because they did not want to buy a ticket for their baby. The parents had two options: either they paid 25 euros for a lap seat, or they paid for a separate seat for the child, but at the standard adult rate.

The couple eventually decided to simply leave the baby in its child seat at the check-in counter and rushed to security.

Ryanair employees immediately notified the police. “All employees were shocked, we have never experienced anything like this. We couldn’t believe what we saw,” said Ryanair’s counter manager. The couple was eventually stopped. The police took the two Belgians for questioning.
