The driver of the car that collided with a car transporter on the A16 near Breda on Friday afternoon has died. It concerns a 61-year-old Belgian. This was announced by the police on Saturday morning. The A16 was closed to Rotterdam for hours on Friday afternoon after the serious accident.
The Belgian collided with his car on the back of the empty trailer.
Due to the seriousness of the accident, a trauma helicopter was called and many emergency services came to the A16. The victim was taken to a hospital, but died of his injuries.
Lots of traffic jams
The driver of the car transporter was taken to the police station to make a statement and for aftercare. He’s not a suspect.
The end of the May holiday caused a lot of traffic on the roads on Friday. The closure of the A16 created even more traffic.
