Belgian coach gets stuck in narrow streets The Hague: street must open to free colossus | News

A Belgian coach got stuck in the narrow street of the Zeeheldenbuurt in The Hague on Saturday evening. The driver has nowhere to go with the meter-long colossus. The street must be broken up to free him.

Not left, not right, not forward, not back. The Belgian driver is stuck. And between Amsterdammertjes on the corner of the Piet Heinstraat and Van Galenstraat. He has nowhere to go with his – luckily empty – coach. ,,I have tried everything”, sighs the man, who can see everything but the fun of it. “Those poles are horrible.”

It was his GPS system that sent him into the narrow streets of the Zeeheldenbuurt. The driver tried to get back on the main road via 2e De Riemerstraat, but that didn’t work. The police helped him to leave the neighborhood somewhere else, but that also went wrong and the meter-long figure got stuck.

And now? “You say that well. And now”, laughs the young officer. “We’ve been here since 6 p.m. It is now 7:45 PM. It is waiting for the municipality.” He will have to break up the street to remove a few posts.

In a number of futile attempts to make the turn, the Belgian caused some damage to the bus. “I think that’s the worst.”
