Belgian army furious: new uniforms not yet distributed among all soldiers, but are on Vinted

The army pants are for sale for a hundred euros, just like a gas mask for 150 euros. That reports La Derniere Heure .

On December 7, the first suits were distributed to the first soldiers in the Grobbendonk barracks. These would be modern, durable, smooth and light. Through social media, the Belgian Defense discovered that the costumes are already for sale on the internet.

Packages on loan

The Ministry’s legal department is investigating the case, Defense reports to Flemish media. If the sellers are found, they face a hefty penalty. According to Defense, the suits are “on loan” and they are intended to be returned after use.

According to the Belgians, resale is therefore also referred to as ’embezzlement’ or ‘theft’. The soldiers in question also risk suspension or even dismissal.
