Belgian (27) drives head-on into bus in Davos: six injured, three people critical | Abroad

Six people were injured on Sunday morning in a head-on collision between an SUV and a scheduled bus near Davos, Switzerland. Three of them are in serious condition, according to the police of the canton of Graubünden.

A 27-year-old Belgian man and three passengers were driving from Davos towards Klosters when they ended up in the opposite lane.

Thick layer of snow

In a bend, the car collided hard with the bus traveling in the opposite direction. The cause of the accident is not yet clear, but images show that the road surface was covered in a thick layer of snow.

Seriously injured people all in car

The three seriously injured people were the occupants of the car, including the driver. One of them was taken by helicopter to the cantonal hospital in Chur, while two others were taken by ambulance to the hospitals in Schiers and Chur.

The fourth occupant of the car, the bus driver and a passenger were slightly injured and hospitalized in Davos. The road remained closed for four hours.
