Belfius raises series of rates, Arco discount disappears | Economy

Belfius will raise a series of rates from 1 July. Among other things, the discount for Arco cooperatives will disappear. The bank confirms the reporting by ‘De Tijd’ about the price increases.

The historical discount for Arco cooperative members of 80 cents per month on current accounts will be abolished. Arco was the investment arm of what was then ACW, today doen.net. Investments were mainly made in Dexia, the predecessor of Belfius.

But from July, that historical discount for cooperative members will disappear. “The discount is disappearing in favor of new benefits that apply to everyone,” argues the bank.

0.5 euros extra per envelope

Sending statements for checking and savings accounts is also becoming more expensive. An additional 0.5 euros per envelope is added. Belfius – owned by the government – refers to the rate increase of bpost. Paper and ink have also become more expensive. For customers older than 70 years, shipping remains free.

The lump sum of the Pulse White account will also be increased, by one and a half euros per month. This is an account that is no longer commercialized. Barely one percent of the accounts at Belfius are Pulse White accounts.

Also becoming more expensive: research costs, the delivery of certificates and the rental of safes.
