Belfius has quite a strong Belgian anchorage, CEO Marc Raisière pleaded Friday when looking back at the ten-year history of the state bank. A few years ago there was still talk of an IPO for Belfius. Those plans are no longer on the table, but according to Raisière it is a good thing if the Belgian government remains a shareholder. “We have become too important for the Belgian economy,” it sounded.
