The Tax and Customs Administration has been struggling with a malfunction at the Tax Telephone since late Sunday evening. People who call the number are told that the service is unavailable due to technical problems.
It is still unclear when the problems will be solved. “We are working hard on a solution and hope that the problems will be over in the course of Tuesday, but unfortunately we cannot give any guarantees,” says a spokesman.
According to the spokesperson, the problems arose with a software update that was carried out over the weekend. “The first update didn’t go well. After a second attempt, most systems worked again, with the exception of the tax telephone. The problem is that incoming calls cannot be forwarded.”
People who have an urgent problem can submit a callback request via the website of the Tax and Customs Administration. “It is possible for employees to call outside. We will try to help people as much as possible, but only call if the problem cannot wait until tomorrow.”
