The State Security Committee of Belarus prevented a terrorist attack against Russian military personnel and equipment stationed in the country, reported in Telegram The Television News Agency (ATN), which is part of the state media holding Belteleradiocompany.
The agency added that the attack was planned to take place in the Mozyr region in southern Belarus. According to a video released by ATN, the organizers of the attack “hid one hundred Molotov cocktails” under the bridge, the plans included the theft of weapons from military personnel, but they were detained “at the stage of preparation for committing a crime.”
“The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment for up to 20 years,” said a representative of the Investigative Committee of Belarus, without specifying a specific article in the Criminal Code. According to the Criminal Code of the country, up to 20 years in prison threatens for an act of terrorism committed repeatedly, or by a group of persons by prior agreement.
