A month before the release of the new album “Hadsel”, Beirut releases his new single “The Tern”. The whole record will be released on November 10th. In addition, Zach Condon has announced two concerts in Berlin’s Tempodrom for February 2024.
After a five-year break, “Hadsel” releases new music from Condon, who recently struggled with throat problems for a long time and retreated to a remote area of Norway. Here he worked on the twelve songs of the new album on an old church organ. The name of the church was also the inspiration for the title of the recording.
Another foretaste comes after the first single “So Many Plans” now the track “The Tern”. The two songs were also written during Condon’s time in Norway. He says about the current single: “The basis of this song comes from an old Roland synthesizer and a drum machine part that I had lying around from an earlier Berlin session. I improvised the lyrics on the spot and rounded off the song with layers of church organs and hand percussion.”
