Beirut announces album HADSEL for November 2023

The record is out on November 10th and features 12 tracks about self-doubt and self-healing.

On November 10th the new Beirut record HADSEL will be released after a four-year break – with twelve tracks about self-doubt and self-healing. It is Beirut’s first album after Zach Condon had to end his tour early in 2019 due to a neck problem. The LP was written during a period of retreat when Condon lived in a cabin on the Norwegian island of Hadsel and drew inspiration from his surroundings.

“During my time at Hadsel I worked hard on the music, in a trance and stumbling blindly through my own mental breakdown that I had pushed aside since I was a teenager. He came and made me ring like a bell. Many things from the past and the present tormented me while the beauty of nature, the Northern Lights and the terrifying storms played out an impressive spectacle around me. The few hours of light revealed the incredible beauty of the mountains and fjords, and the hours of twilight filled me with hushed excitement. I’d like to think that the scenery is somehow present in the music,” Zach Condon said of HADSEL in the press release
