“Not being able to get an erection anymore, that’s mentally tough.” With his candid testimony about the risks of prostate surgery, actor Warre Borgmans (66) broke a taboo. “Being impotent as a guy, you don’t show that in our macho culture,” testifies fellow sufferer Rudy Van Giel (71), who was also incontinent for a long time after prostate surgery. “I lived in lockdown for a year and a half. I lost up to 2 liters of urine every day and I didn’t dare go outside anymore.”
