BEING A LEADER INSTEAD OF TALKING ABOUT LEADERSHIP

First woman in the company, first administrative, first saleswoman not only in the company but also the first in all of Latin America for the brand. It became the first Store Manager. And now, first Human Resources Manager.

In a world of motorcycles and generally very masculine, Sabrina Centurión has had the courage, determination and love to be a leader, because it is one thing to talk about leadership and quite another to be a leader.

To be a leader, it is indistinct where you work, it can be inside your house. The important thing is to know that we always have available the possibility of being the LEADERS AND PROTAGONISTS OF OUR LIFE if, as Sabrina Centurion did, we change “the story we told ourselves” and we become protagonists and heroes/heroines of our own history.

In the first person, Sabrina tells us about her transformation and the challenges she has been going through.

What were your professional and personal objectives when you arrived at Lemamotor?

In 2018 I started in the administration of Lemamotor; a medium and high-end motorcycle retail company that operates official dealers of Royal Enfield, Motoplex (Piaggio Group), KTM and Can am, although it had several years of experience in the field, I had never been recognized for my performance. Therefore, my personal goal was to achieve that recognition and professionally, to grow within a company.

What had to happen for the exponential growth you had to occur?

I literally had to stop being who I was. change my story and take responsibility for my decisions, see that I was part of the problems and become part of the solution, as a protagonist. And in that it was fundamental to accept to receive help, I had the support that Jackie Delger gave me. I started the process when I moved to the Sales area and from that moment I learned to see things from another place, to trust myself, to stand up to challenges and overcome them, and I became a reference for my colleagues, and leader of my equipment.

Although I always want to continue growing, today I am focused on consolidating myself in my new position, and also on implementing our mantra 100%: “MAKE THE TEAM WIN” This phrase is the mirror in which we look at ourselves, because the orientation towards team development and an organizational culture with identity in our values is a very present initiative of the company. For this reason, what we explain to all those who join the company, regardless of the role we occupy, is that the success of each one lies in the success of the team.

What have been your main challenges? How have you faced or overcome them?

My first challenge was to be the first woman in the company. Although I was always very well received by my colleagues, some clients found it strange or preferred to be served by a man. Breaking that prejudice and showing that she had the ability to stand out regardless of gender was an achievement.

In my previous professional experiences, I had never been in a company that invested in training like Lemamotor and not only in the technical part but also in skills to improve one’s own emotional management and also learn to understand and relate to clients with empathy and assertiveness and Of course with the rest of the team. We are all very different and go from being a group to being a team It is what has been making the difference. And that is a daily challenge, learning to really listen, to hold difficult conversations, to empower each other and to put the customer at the center of all our activity. Clearly, customers are the ones who make sense of the business and that has nothing to do with the traditional saying: “The customer is always right”, because sometimes he doesn’t have it either, but with an attitude of gratitude and a spirit of service. I like what I do and I think that shows.

What has this decision you made brought you?

Lemamotor for me is the place that gave me the recognition I was looking for, it even exceeded my expectations. Mateo Garri, the General Manager, always trusted me. Every time there was an opportunity for growth, he gave it to me. I highlight the human quality of each one of the members, and Jackie and Itziar have a lot to do with this. Tasters of Emotions, because we continually do workshops with the teams and have individual sessions, in which they provide us with professional tools, but above all to be better people. They teach us to “get out of the box” to understand that we have infinite possibilities to achieve what we set out to do, to raise our vibration, to challenge our beliefs, to know ourselves better to understand others, to get out of prejudice and connect with people from another place.

What would you say to other women who are putting off changing their story for the better out of fear?

that the first thing is have confidence in themselves, that there is not a time or a stage to achieve the objectives. I was a very young mother and I raised my children alone and that was undoubtedly one of my driving forces, showing my children that it is possible to be successful and lead a family, and that if they are in a place where they feel undervalued, more beyond fear, dare to take the leap. I cheered up. And today I am where they value me for who I am and where commitment is recognized. But above all I would tell them Let them help!

We can with everything, but that NEVER means that we have to be able to handle everything alone.

In thrill tasters, we deal every day with companies and although they are complex organisms, companies are networks of conversations. Tens or thousands of people coordinating actions to make things happen. People with their fears, achievements, stories and wounds, raised in the comfort of a tale of victims: “The toy broke, the glass of milk fell, the vase crashed to the floor.” A story where innocence is paid with the high price of impotence and a life sentence of being at the mercy of circumstances, which are out of our control. For this reason, our mission is to accompany people to transcend those stories and BE AWARE of your possibilities. Our programs and sessions are oriented so that each member of the teams generates abundance and success in your life through a greater connection with your emotions, rewire your brain for transcend your unconscious limits and expand your results by changing the language.

Efficiency and agility are only born from conscious people and companies. For this reason, when we meet Managers like Mateo Garri who, at the age of 29, places the happiness and transformation of collaborators as fundamental points to improve sales and who entrusts this mission to thrill tastersWe can only feel grateful.
