Behind the scenes of ‘Boer zkt Vrouw’: “Our TV teams almost live with those farmers”

After eighteen years on the TV you would almost forget that VTM did not invent ‘Boer zkt Vrouw’ itself. ‘The Farmer Wants a Wife’ is an originally British documentary series from 2001. The program as we know it is a spin-off. Belgium was the first country in the world where it went on air, with the then 25-year-old Dina Tersago as the presenter. ‘Boer zkt Vrouw’ has therefore become firmly rooted in Flemish television history and we can almost call it the mother of all dating programs — together with ‘Blind Date’. Cupid Dina is 43 today, more charming than ever and still the proud ‘face of’.
