Today the joy of the most popular sport on the planet invades different nations around the world. After these matches, an agreement was reached between the English and the Scots to play a match on November 30, 1872coinciding with the day of Saint Andrew, patron saint of Scotland. It was chosen as the headquarters of the party Hamilton Crescent, a cricket stadium in the Glasgow area, owned by the West of Scotland Cricket Club.
According to historical data, the match started 20 minutes late and was refereed by the Scotsman william kay. On a field in poor condition, due to the rain that had fallen in the 3 days prior to the match, the local team was giving the team in the white jersey difficulties. But, despite the frequent arrivals of the “highlanders”, the match ended goalless.
Years later, two South American countries, pioneers in the sport of ball, would play the first international match outside of British territory.
