Frankfurt powerful, Kamada and Rode meet
Frankfurt was the better team from the start. And the pressure had an effect: Daichi Kamada was offside when the first goal was supposed to be scored, but a little later one of his goals counted. Mario Götze lifted the ball into the left of the penalty area to Kolo Muani, who headed the ball from across, Kamada headed the second post (16′).
Captain Sebastian Rode raised for Frankfurt. He passed Kolo Muani on the right, got the ball back, played Kampl and completed ten meters. Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulácsi was unable to defend against the deflected shot (22nd). Leipzig had little to oppose.
Tuta dusts off, Borré with the 4:0
Leipzig only came out of the break slightly better. After a corner by David Raum, the ball landed at Christopher Nkunku, who shot over the goal when he took it direct (50′). Frankfurt stayed closer to 3-0 than Leipzig to the connection. Götze unexpectedly caught the ball in front of his feet in the penalty area, but from 14 meters he shot too centrally – Gulácsi saved (59′).
Things went better for Eintracht a little later: Tuta made it 3-0 after Gulácsi let Götze’s long-range shot rebound (67′). Raffael Borré made it 4-0 with a penalty kick (84th), Amadou Haidara had previously fouled Ansgar Knauff from Frankfurt.
