Hertha executive committee member Ingmar Pering has resigned from his position at the Bundesliga club with immediate effect. The official confirmed this to rbb on Thursday morning, after the “Picture” reported about it.

Pering has held various positions in the association since spring 2000 and has been a member of the executive committee since 2007. “I have the feeling that my advice and my suggestions are no longer being heard enough. I have drawn my conclusions from that,” he said, explaining his resignation.

Hertha’s presidium reacts with a statement

Hertha’s presidium responded in the early evening with a statement. The Presidency noted the declaration of resignation with regret. “President Kay Bernstein is disappointed by this step, especially in the current situation, but would like to thank Ingmar Pering for his many years of commitment to Hertha BSC,” the statement said.

As a result of Pering’s resignation, “the number of members in the executive committee laid down in the statutes has again fallen below.” So it must be seven. That makes “a by-election necessary to reach the stipulated minimum number of members in the committee.” This problem will be put on the agenda at short notice at the general meeting. The aim is “to discuss with the members about the options for a by-election in an extraordinary or the next ordinary general meeting,” the statement continues.

explosive General Assembly is imminent

Hertha BSC does not rest before the general meeting. On Sunday, a vote should also be taken on the motion of a member of the association, which calls for the dismissal of all other members of the executive committee and the chairman of the supervisory board, Klaus Brüggemann. 75 percent of the members present would have to vote for the motion to be successful.

In addition, the difficult sporting situation of the capital club threatened with relegation and the reports about the Licensing Issues become a topic on Sunday.
