Beesel is going to check organic waste: too much other rubbish | 1Limburg

Residents of the municipality of Beesel throw too much plastic, paper and textiles with the organic waste. That is why the municipality is going to check the green bins more strictly.

Beesel emphasizes on facebook that only food leftovers, vegetable, fruit and garden waste belong in the organic waste bin.

Higher costs
“The trucks full of rejected organic waste cause higher costs for the municipality and therefore also for you; the waste levy goes up as a result,” the municipality writes. “It is also a waste of the raw material because it disappears in the incinerator and cannot be processed into clean compost.” Residents of Beesel already have to pay 42 euros more in waste levies this year than in 2021.

Full container back
If pollution is found during a check, the garbage collectors leave the container behind. The pollution is registered, it is then up to the people themselves to remove the rubbish that does not belong in it.

Police report
The bucket or container can be put out on the street again on the next collection day. If it turns out again that it contains something other than organic waste, an official report will be drawn up.

During emptying
If contamination is seen during emptying, the owner of the relevant container will receive a warning. If the next time during a check other junk is found, then that resident can also expect an official report.
