Hundreds of fans of the Netflix series Ferry came to the Noordkade in Veghel on Wednesday evening in a tracksuit, leopard print or other scruffy outfit. Drug lord Ferry Bouman, played by Brabant actor Frank Lammers, is having a party there and 1,500 lucky fans were allowed to attend.
Beer, frikandels and Brabant sing-along, it was all there tonight and visitors could enjoy everything for free. They also got to see the first episode of the new season of the series. “I have also seen the other parts and I am completely ready for it,” says a boy who looks exactly like Ferry. “I really like the Brabant rawness of the series and I hope for a lot of spectacle again. That it is just a bit over the top.”
Well-known Tiktokker Terry the Frikandell Queen is also there. She’s bouncing around in a leopard print outfit. “Of course I come for the frikandels,” she says. “But also for Ferry. I am a fan of Brabant humor and hope that this season will be just as exciting again.”
“I think this really represents the conviviality of Brabant.”
There was plenty to do for the guests. This allowed them to take a look at Danielle’s caravan, where Ferry and she stay at the Zonnedauw campsite in the series. A little further on, visitors could get airbrush tattoos. And between the silos was a container where a drug dealer tried to sell his ecstasy. All fake of course, but almost indistinguishable from the real thing.
“It’s very nice with this decoration,” says a boy. “I’m from Rotterdam so I didn’t know what to expect, but I think this is really the Brabant atmosphere.”
Tickets for the party could only be won, so the fans who had gotten a ticket were extra happy. “My mother had also registered, but she had not been selected. Then it turned out that I had also received a letter and I saw that I had won,” says a boy who is at the party with three friends. They did their best on their outfit. “Last summer on holiday I bought this ugly floral blouse. That fits in here.”
