The sustainable and climate-proof residential area De Koog in Uitgeest is currently under construction to create more greenery in the district. The insect hotels on the lampposts would fit well in this neighborhood and should ensure more biodiversity.
The municipality of Uitgeest has therefore engaged Beegrateful, a young startup that emerged from research into promoting biodiversity in the vicinity of the University of Wageningen. An evaluation moment will take place in April to see whether the bee hotels are doing well.
