Boris Becker, from the stage of the Sports Festival, had launched a first signal: “After a few years, after dedicating myself to my family and my personal matters, a great desire to coach is returning to me… If I find some project that I like, I could go back to the circuit.”

A few hours later, here are the first clues: an Instagram story from the Monte Carlo Country Club, and a photo posted on the social profiles of the player and his mother-manager Aneke which portrays Boris in his “work” outfit together with the 20-year-old Danish team.

Becker would have worked for a few days together with the team of the player who stopped working with Novak Djokovic after a year. Rune is recovering from several physical back problems which have heavily influenced the second part of the season so much so that the Dane is currently at risk of not qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin. Bum Bum, former world number 1 and six-time Slam champion, was Djokovic’s supercoach for almost four years, during which he helped him win 6 of the 24 Slams hit by the Serbian. “When he asked me to follow him – he says – he had dropped from number one to two in the world, he had lost the last four Grand Slam finals. We spent a weekend talking about tennis, that is, what we love most. I appreciated the his honesty and I accepted the job. He remains my younger brother and a phenomenon: at 36 he is still dominant.”
