Although there will be no major technical innovations in Formula 1 in 2024, fans and those responsible will have to prepare for changes in (at least) two teams when it comes to the naming of the racing teams, as has now been announced.
When Formula 1 sends its ten teams to the start next year, the usual suspects such as Ferrari, Mercedes and, above all, the current F1 dominators Red Bull will of course be there again. But there are also some changes in the grid, at least in terms of names. Because Red Bull sister team AlphaTauri will drive under a new name from 2024, this has been known and confirmed for a long time.
Which lucrative sponsor will be emblazoned on the cars of the current AlphaTauri racing team or the former ToroRosso team is still a matter of speculation. In addition to the German fashion manufacturer Hugo Boss, sporting goods giant Adidas has recently been traded. A deal with the company from Herzogenaurach is imminent, according to the Swiss newspaper “Blick”. AlphaTauri and Adidas are still keeping a low profile.
Aston Martin, on the other hand, is a little more open about the rumors of a name change. Owner Lawrence Stroll’s team, which has been driving around the world’s F1 tracks in the so-called British Racing Green since 2021 and is now in its third year in full “Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team” – or since 2022 with the entry of the Saudi Arabian team The oil production company Aramco is even called “Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team” – will at least slightly rename itself in 2024.
Although the US IT service provider Cognizant has already signed a new deal with Aston Martin, it will no longer be the title sponsor of the F1 team.
“Cognizant was our first title partner – they teamed up with Aston Martin to improve the reputation of their brand,” the portal “GPfans.com” quotes a press spokesman for the racing team. After the success of the measure, Cognizant is now taking a back seat.
It is not yet known who will take the place of the US company in the name. There should be clarity at the beginning of 2024. The first rumors shouldn’t be long in coming
