Boris Becker can imagine working as a trainer for Olympic champion Alexander Zverev.
“In principle, there is definitely a possibility,” said the tennis icon on “Sky” on Thursday, but only “if the time is right.” Because he has “other obligations, I’m a father, I can’t travel every week.”
At the beginning of February, Becker ended his collaboration with the young Danish star Holger Rune after less than four months. The 56-year-old wrote at the time on
Apparently Becker is still interested in a similar task. “I have known Sascha since he was six years old,” said Becker about Zverev. “We like each other, we are mates, I know his strengths, no weaknesses.”
But that “has to happen now. A lot of things are in flux right now. I like how he’s playing tennis now after his long injury.” Zverev is currently being trained by his father Alexander.
