The Atlético coach assured that “Joao is our player and if Chelsea do not want to sign him, they will have to return; I am compatible and I have no problem with anyone”
Regarding the possible departure of the Portuguese, he stated that “we have to see if the offer is good for the club financially”
Diego Simeone, coach of Atlético de Madrid, referred to to the future of the Portuguese Joao Félix in an interview on the program ‘El Partidazo de COPE’ and did not rule out any scenario, including his return or his departure to another club in the League like Barcelona.
The Argentine coach was hypothesized that the board of directors of the mattress club would inform him of an offer from Barça, to which he responded by saying that “because of Barcelona’s way of playing he would be an important player”.
Simeone stated that “Joao is our player. If Chelsea don’t want to sign him, as Pochettino seems to have decided, he will have to come back and form part of our team. He has enormous conditions. It will be what he wants to be. He is an Atlético de Madrid, I am compatible and I have no problem with anyone. It has always shown quality.”
BAD LUCK
The mattress technician acknowledged that “He has had bad luck with us because he has had injuries. Correa, for example, has won the position. The team played badly because it played badly. He knows my coaching profile.”
And he concluded by pointing out that “Joao is a young boy with an important future ahead of him either with us or with another team. An exit? It is necessary to see if economically the offer is good for the club”.
THE FUTURE OF CARRASCO
Beyond the future of Joao Félix, Simeone also spoke about the future of Yannick Carrasco at Atlético de Madrid. The mattress coach recognized that the Belgian player has the option of going to FC Barcelona this summer if the Barça club activates the purchase option on the winger:
“It’s a great opportunity for him, I always want good players to stay, but if he leaves I’ll thank him for the time he’s been here”, he assured.
The option Carrasco likes a lot in the coaching staff of FC Barcelona, who with Mateu Alemany at the helm will try to lower Atlético’s claims with the purchase clause of 19 million euros.
