Almost everything now indicates that Jude Bellingham will leave BVB in the summer. In return, Borussia Dortmund beckons record income, which, according to the latest information, cannot be used alone.
If the youngster were to be sold, BVB would apparently have to cede a small part of the fee to Bellingham’s training club Birmingham City. According to “Bild”, the English second division team would receive five percent of the proceeds in this case.
When the midfielder was transferred three years ago, the two clubs are said to have negotiated the stake. The German runner-up did not want to comment on this, but such regulations are considered normal in the market.
Bellingham’s departure from Dortmund should already be a foregone conclusion. Spain giant Real Madrid is traded as a possible new employer.
The total package for the 19-year-old is said to be around 120 million euros, of which 100 million euros is a fixed sum plus 20 million euros in bonus payments. That means: First, around five million euros would have to be passed on to Birmingham.
BVB on hold because of Bellingham
Bellingham switched to BVB in 2020 at the age of 17 for around 25 million euros. There, the dynamic driver quickly developed into a top performer.
According to “Sport Bild” information, Borussia hopes to move soon in poker around Bellingham. The Westphalians can only really invest in the transfer market when the expected mega fee has been credited to their account.
The report cites Ajax Amsterdam’s Edson Álvarez as an example. BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl has already been negotiating with the Mexican, who is available for around 35 million euros.
In the near future, however, things will have to be nailed down here, otherwise very wealthy competitors from the Premier League could interfere.
