TOAlthough we live in a socially conscious era, despite the advancement of women’s rights over the years, the reality is that we continue to talk about female empowerment because the gender gap, fit employment, salary, social, is and remains a theme. The condition of women therefore continues to inspire a number growing number of companies in the beauty world, who advocate for female empowerment with initiatives that approach the issue from different angles.
Kérastase PowerTalks that boost self-confidence
The feeling of trust varies between men and women: in Italy 72% of Italian women aged between 18 and 55 do not have much self-confidence, and the percentage drops to 63% for men. An attitude that has decisive repercussions on professional choices, especially for the younger ones.
The survey also revealed another fact: for 4 out of 10 young women, a solution to increase self-esteem is through a mentor. The mentor is the professionally accomplished person who serves as an inspiration.
These data emerge from a research by Eurometer commissioned by the luxury brand of professional hair treatments Kerastase, who decided to give life to the Power Talks project articulated in three stepsand which aims to increase the self-confidence of women, and support them in achieving their goals with all-female mentoring courses.
The first step/event of the project is called Inspiring, and took place in Milan on 13 March and involved established women such as the Italian actress Caroline Crescentini, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Francesca Michielin, the Paralympic champion Veronica Yoko Plebani, the model, influencer and TV presenter Nina Rima, Pauline Councilors the young founder of the association It’s not all pink, And Silvia Redigoloactivist of Pangea Foundationa non-profit organization that operates in Italy and abroad for female empowerment and to help women who are victims of any form of limitation to their physical, psychological or economic freedom.
The guests shared their professional journey by addressing the issues of self-confidence, resilience, diversity, gender equality and the enhancement of women in society and in the world of work.

For 2023, these moments of reflection and discussion, focused precisely on the concept of empowerment, they are accompanied by illustrations by artist and exhibition curator Francesca Protopapa.
Guerlain’s support for women’s work and the protection of bees
The project promotes the training of women beekeepers all over the world Women for Bees (one of the activities of the Guerlain For Bees Conservation Program project dedicated to the protection of bees) in close cooperation with UNESCO and, starting this year, with NGO locals.
Launched in 2020 in France, Cambodia and Japan, the initiative kicked off in Italy in 2022, with the local program implemented in collaboration with CONAPI (National Consortium of Beekeepers), which has made it possible to train 11 women beekeepers, while another 11 are completing the training course which will end in May, and will culminate with a day of tests practices in an apiary of the consortium.
This year the Women for Bees project also involves Mexico, and the godmother Angelina Jolie went to Yucatan to support the traditions of Mayan womenas well as countering the risk of bee extinction. The initiative is carried out in collaboration with Selva Maya Foundation (FSM), a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of Melipona Beecheii, the sacred bees of this ancient civilization, and the support of the Belmond Maroma Hotellocated in the heart of the region.
