Beau van Erven Dorens is gasping for breath after a big viewing figure dive

It is one of Beau van Erven Dorens’ biggest flops ever: Race for the Rings. The program really does not appeal to the viewer at all; even 112 Today attracted more attention yesterday.

Beau van Erven Dorens will be sick and tired of the fact that Race for the Rings scores so poorly. He traveled all the way to Jordan for the recordings, but despite all those beautiful landscapes, no dog really looks at the end result. Yesterday he almost flew out of the top 25 viewership with 339 thousand viewers and a 10 percent market share.

Painful for Beau

Race for the Rings is really being overtaken from all sides. Even a program like 112 Today on the much smaller RTL 5 did even better with 368 thousand viewers. Pretty painful for Beau.

According to Angela de Jong, it is obvious that this genre simply does not fit Beau. According to her, he can make socially involved programs better. “I am a big fan of Beau in Five Days Inside, The Amsterdam Project, The Rotterdam Project and this is not that. Beau has the gun factor, but the program doesn’t seem good enough.”

Beavers closing the door

The bottom line of the top 25 viewing figure is the reality series De Bevers, this time with 257 thousand viewers (7%) on RTL 5. Despite the meager scores, the program may continue with a second season, it was announced yesterday. The viewer does not have to wait long for that, because that series starts in September.

John de Bever explains: “We will continue as long as we like it and other people like it. The first season was an introduction to us. The content of the second season will be a little more in-depth.”

Prime time winners

The prime time winners were NPO 1’s At Least Tenable Up to with 859 thousand viewers (24%) on NPO 1, The Great British Bake-Off with 630 thousand viewers (19%) on NPO 1 and Mr. Frank Visser makes a statement with 583 thousand viewers (17%) on SBS 6.

Furthermore, NPO 2’s Nieuwsuur (463 thousand) and the aforementioned 112 Today were the most popular.

Viewing figures

Other programs that did not make it into the top 15 include Shownieuws (469 thousand), KVW (358 thousand), Your house in order (271 thousand) and Shownieuws Zomer Edition (236 thousand).
