Beau van Erven Dorens does not make up for the bad start of his new romantic adventure show Race for the Rings. For the second week in a row, he does not manage to conquer a spot in the top 15.
The kick-off of Race om de Ringen last Thursday only captivated 588 thousand viewers and that is quite disappointing for prime time on RTL 4. Unfortunately, Beau van Erven Dorens does not make up for that false start. The second episode last night reached 563 thousand viewers (14% market share), again not enough for a place in the top 15.
Beau disappoints
Beau has to settle for bronze at half past eight. Two programs did better at this point in time: At least Durable Tot attracted 1.1 million viewers (28%) to NPO 1 and Mr. Frank Visser Doet Uitspraak came to 684 thousand viewers (18%).
The winners at half past nine were Today Inside with 977 thousand viewers (25%) on SBS 6, The Great British Bake Off with 603 thousand viewers (15%) on NPO 1 and Nieuwsuur with 469 thousand viewers (12%) on NPO 2.
Angela not positive
Angela de Jong thinks Beau’s meager viewing figures are justified. “This is what we’ve seen a hundred times. Peking Express, Who is the Mole, The Traitors; it was all kind of in there. And a touch of Love Letters, because they play for a honeymoon,” said the opinion diva of the AD in her podcast.
She continues: “I am a very big fan of Beau van Erven Dorens as program maker of Five Days Inside, The Amsterdam Project, The Rotterdam Project and this is not that. Beau has the gun factor, but the program doesn’t seem good enough.”
Viewing figures
Programs that also did not make the top 15 include Khalid and Sophie (544 thousand), 112 Today (424 thousand), Time for MAX (333 thousand), De Bevers (314 thousand) and the Shownieuws Zomer Edition (253 thousand).
