Beau is nasty to Privé, Evert hits back: ‘This is the proof!’

Beau van Erven Dorens denies that he announced his TV farewell in conversation with Privé, but is that really that useful? Privé now shares a photo of the interview and comes with the audio tape.

It’s over: in a few years, Beau van Erven Dorens will say goodbye to television to take a completely new path. At least, that’s what he says this week in a major interview with the weekly magazine Privé. Apparently the RTL 4 presenter somewhat regrets that candor, because in a long response to Instagram he is now completely backtracking.

Beau denies

Beau suddenly shouts that this is not an issue at all. “I just received a message from my wife that I announced my retirement as a TV presenter in an interview with Privé magazine. I’m looking forward to that! So you can see that you can surprise yourself! For example, with an interview with Privé, which I really can’t remember.”

And that TV farewell? “I will first share that with my wife and then my family and then my bosses at RTL and then my colleagues and then with people randomly on the street, perhaps and then, well into the depths of my farewell announcement tour, to a newspaper or TV -program. The Privé magazine is not included in this list. 😂”

Ugly shit

Well, that’s an ugly sneer from Beau. Why is the entertainment magazine not included in that list? “Not because I have anything against Privé, nor against other tabloids. They always treat me very nicely and after all I am also very boring. Anywaysomewhere at a premiere I probably politely spoke to someone who spoke to me.”

He continues: “And I don’t want to be rude about it, but I really don’t remember who and for which magazine and when that was. And not exactly what I said there, to be honest. If you really want to know, here’s the official answer… I’ll probably say goodbye as a TV presenter at some point, but for now I’m really enjoying it.”

Positive transmitter

Beau enjoys RTL, he says. “I have actually never felt more at home than now, in the middle of society, at a good, positive channel, with great colleagues and fortunate enough viewers to remain profitable for my channel, apparently. Again, as a 52-year-old presenter, I am not done with this profession yet.”

He concludes: “I really enjoy it and see many new challenges. If that dries up, then it’s time to take a new path. And I will not hesitate to make such a decision. But that’s still a long way off! Many greetings, also to Evert Santegoeds.”

Factually incorrect?

Does Beau regret his statements against Privé? It is possible that he cannot remember that conversation, but why then the accusation and sneer against Evert Santegoeds’ club? As a media maker, Beau must know that his statements affect the credibility and reputation of the magazine.

This is how Egbert, a follower of Beau, responds: “I never expected that a respectable publication like De Privé would post things that are factually incorrect. 🤯 This scares me. 🤯 (really)”

Audio tape

Private boss Evert does not leave it at that. He shares a photo of the interview that his star journalist Ben Holthuis held with Beau (see above) and notes: “That thing in his hand is a recorder, you will hear the recording made with it on Monday in the podcast Strikt Privé. Kind regards to Beau.”

That Beau must have been drinking, Marijke Helwegen concludes Instagram. “You may have said something, but you had a pleasant evening with a few drinks beforehand. Sometimes you don’t remember something like that. I have that too sometimes, but maybe it’s just old age for me. Anyway, you’ve debunked it now 👏👏.”
